The Eagles are looking to earn their second trip to the NAIA National Tournament

Montgomery, W.V. – The Robert Morris Women's Basketball team begins post-season play in the Association of Independent Institutions Tournament on Saturday, March 2nd at 12:00 P.M.  Fans can listen live to all RMU games at www.eaglesportsnetwork.com.  The winner of the six-team tournament receives an automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament in Frankfort, Kentucky.

The Eagles enter the tournament as the number one seed with a 17-12 record and will take on the winner of fourth seeded Cal State San Marcos and fifth seeded Morris University (S.C.).  RMU is looking to advance to its second NAIA National Tournament and first under Head John Natanek.  Junior Uniqua Hampton leads the team in scoring with a 14 points per game average, while sophomore Yolanda De La Torre is right behind her averaging 12.45 points per game.

If the Eagles win Saturday's game, they will advance to the tournament championship on Sunday, March 3rd at 11:00 A.M. 

"I am proud that we have earned the top seed in the tournament and have a chance to win a berth to the national tournament," stated RMU Head Coach John Natanek.  "This team has played a tough schedule all year to hopefully be ready for March."

The tournament kicks-off on Friday, March 1st with third seeded Voorhees College (S.C.) taking on sixth seeded Allen University (S.C.) and the Cal State San Marcos/Morris match-up following.  The winner of the Voorhees/Allen game advances to the semi-finals versus second seeded West Virginia Tech.  The A.I.I. Tournament championship will take place on Sunday, March 3rd at 11:00 A.M.
