RMU Head Coach Al Bruehl & his team are looking to advance to its 10th straight NAIA National Tournament

Montgomery, W.V. – The Robert Morris Men's Basketball team begins post-season play in the Association of Independent Institutions Tournament on Friday, March 1st when they take on Allen University (S.C.) at 2:00 P.M. at West Virginia Tech.  Fans can listen live to all RMU games at www.eaglesportsnetwork.com.  The winner of the six-team tournament receives an automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.

The Eagles, who are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Division I Poll, enter the tournament as the third seed with a 16-13 record and have won nine of its last ten games, including four straight.  RMU is looking to advance to its 10th straight NAIA National Tournament and 12th overall under Head Coach Al Bruehl.  Junior Sean Montgomery leads the team in scoring with a 13.35 points per game average, while senior Brian Bradley is right behind him averaging 12.9 points per game.

Allen University enters the tournament as the sixth seed with a 5-24 record.  The Yellowjackets have lost their last four games and are led by leading scorer Richard Johnson, who is averaging an outstanding 21.32 points per game.

If the Eagles win Friday's game, they will advance to the tournament semi-finals on Saturday, March 2nd and take on hosts and second seeded West Virginia Tech at 7:00 P.M. 

"I like the way we have played in our last ten games," stated RMU Hall of Fame Head Coach Al Bruehl.  "We have gotten on a bit of a roll as of late and I hope we can continue the momentum into the tournament.  If we can play well and stick to our game, it will be interesting to see what happens."

In other tournament action, fourth seeded Voorhees College (S.C.) takes on fifth seeded Morris University (S.C.) in the first round with the winner advancing on to face top seeded and seventh ranked Cal State San Marcos.  The A.I.I. Tournament championship will take place on Sunday, March 3rd at 2:00 P.M.
