The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Volleyball team fell to Saint Ambrose University 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 19-25, 20-25) in a CCAC match Tuesday September 26th.

RMU jumped out to a 4-3 lead in the first set, when the Bees went on a 4-0 run to build a 7-4 lead before a Jazmin Pruitt (SR/Bellwood, Ill.) kill ended the run.  Teams traded points back and forth until RMU trailed 16-22 when RMU went on a 4-0 run to come within 20-22 on Kamila Zieba (FR/Chicago, Ill.)'s serve.  Bees got set point at 24-20, two Bees errors brought the Eagles to within two at 22-24.  An RMU hitting error ended the set losing 22-25. 

In the second set, Hannah Wagner (JR/Lapeer, Mich.) went on a 7-0 service run with three aces to take a 9-4 lead.  Saint Ambrose would claw back down 11-13 when a Kailyn Williams (FR/Wheaton, Ill.) kills would extend the lead back to 14-11.  Saint Ambrose was able to tie the set at 18.  Hannah Wagner was able to serve up another three point run to take a 21-18 lead.  A block by Jazmin Pruitt and Kailyn Williams ended the set 25-21.

Saint Ambrose came out firing in the third set jumping out to an 11-3 lead.  RMU would fight back, trailing 14-20, Kristin Acciavatti (SR/Wheaton, Ill.) went back to serve aided by three Bees errors got the Eagles within three 17-20.  The Eagles would get no closer, falling 19-25 in the third set.

With their backs against the wall RMU looked to send the match to a fifth set.  Saint Ambrose was able to build an early again 11-4.  Kristin Acciavatti was able to go on a 7-0 service run to tie the set up at 11.  With the set tied at 16, the Bees were able to go on a mini 3-0 run extending their lead to 19-16. RMU would get within two after a Jazmin Pruitt trailing 18-20.  Saint Ambrose would go on another mini 3-0 run to force a RMU timeout trailing 18-23.  RMU got kills from Kailyn Williams and Hannah Wagner out of the timeout but the Bees would hang on to take the fourth set 25-20 and match 3-1.   

Wendy Garcia (SR/San Diego, Calif.) led the way defensively with a match-high 24 digs.  Grace Konovodoff (JR/Sugar Grove, Ill.) and Lindsey Veersma (JR/Stanwood, Mich.) led the offense with 13 assists each.  Kailyn Williams had a team-high 8 kills, while Kristin Acciavatti added six kills. 

RMU falls to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in CCAC action.  

RMU returns to the court against Trinity International University at 7pm October 3rd at 7pm at the RMU Athletic and Convocation Center in Arlington Heights, Ill.
