Women's Soccer-CH - Wed, Sep. 13, 2017

The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Soccer team traveled to Lacrosse, Wis. to take on Viterbo University and tied 0-0 after 2OT Wednesday September 13th.

In the first half, RMU defended multiple corner kicks, before Alisa Ebeling was able to get the first RMU shot on goal in the 23rd minute that was saved by Viterbo goalie Abby Breitbach.  Adrienne Giglio (SR/Belvidere, Ill.) made a save in the 30th minute to continue the scoreless match.  In the 39th minute, Viterbo was whistled for a yellow card in a collision with Adrienne GiglioItzel Hernandez (SR/Skokie, Ill.) came in goal and was fantastic the rest of the match.  At halftime the teams were tied 0-0 with RMU leading 2 shots to 1 in the first half.   

In the second half, Sam Sparks (FR/Rochester, Ohio) got the first shot of the half off in the 59th minute that was saved.  In the 72nd minute Maria Berrum (JR/Glendale Heights, Ill.) blasted a shot off the crossbarIn the 71st minute Emma Khramer's  came in from the right side ripping a shot past the keeper that bounced off the post keeping the match scoreless as we headed to overtime. 

In the first overtime each team had a corner kick but no other chances were had.  In the second overtime, Viterbo got two shots away with one going wide and the other being saved by Itzel Hernandez.  No shots for RMU in the second overtime and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.  RMU is now 1-4-1 overall heading into CCAC action next week.

Itzel Herandez had two saves in relief.  Sam Sparks, Demy Whitaker (SR/Toledo, Ohio), Maria Berrum, Alisa Ebeling, and Emma Krahmer (SR/Cherry Valley, Ill.) came up with the five shots on the match for the Eagles. 

Eagles will be back in action at Morris Field on Wednesday September 20th versus Roosevelt University (Ill.) in their CCAC opener, kickoff scheduled for 6:00pm in Arlington Heights, Ill.
