Adrienne Giglio (above) made 10 saves on the afternoon
Women's Soccer-CH - Sun, Sep. 10, 2017

The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Soccer team fell to Davenport University (Mich.) Sunday September 10th at Morris Field.

In the first half both teams were feeling each other out until the 24th minute when Sam Sparks (FR/Rochester, Ohio) put a shot on a goal that was saved by the Davenport goalie.  RMU defense was able to stand strong on seven first half corner kicks defending them all perfectly to keep the score 0-0 heading to half time.

In the second half, Davenport's Madeleine Zayan was able to get past the defense and sneak a shot by Adrienne Giglio (SR/Belvidere, Ill.) to take a 1-0 lead.   RMU was putting on the pressure with six shots in the final ten minutes.  Demy Whitaker (SR/Toledo, Ohio) was able to put one on frame in the 89th minute but Davenport was able to make the save causing a rebound opportunity that was sent just over the crossbar.  Davenport was able to survive the last two minutes defeating RMU 1-0.  Eagles fall to 1-4 overall on the season.

Adrienne Giglio was great in the net saving 10 shots on the afternoon.

Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday September 13th at Viterbo University (Wis.), kickoff scheduled for 1:00pm in Lacrosse, Wis.
