The #23 Robert Morris Illinois Women's Soccer team fell 1-0 to Grandview University (Iowa) Saturday August 26th, and fell 3-2 to Graceland Unviersity (Iowa) on Sunday August 27th as part of the Grandview Unviersity Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Match One

Eagles took on host Grandview to begin the tournament.  RMU had two quality chances to get on the board in the first half.  One coming on their corner kick and placed a header on target but Grandview was able to clear the ball off the line.  Later in the first half, Sam Sparks (FR/Rochester, Ohio) had a semi-breakaway shot saved by Grandview goalie Caitlyn Dayton to keep the match a draw 0-0 at half.  

In the second half RMU looked to conitnue to produce quality chances but was thwarted by their defense.  In the  81st minute Grandview's Kiley Kisling was able to sneak a shot past Adrienne Giglio (SR/Belvidere, Ill.) to take a 1-0 lead.  RMU was unable to tie it up before time expired and dropped the match by a final score of 1-0.  Falling to 1-1 overall on the season. 

Match Two

RMU took on Graceland Sunday morning looking to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat on Saturday.  In the 11th minute Detzi Reveles (SO/Chicago, Ill.) did just that, putting a shot in the upper right corner from just outside the 18-yard box to put the Eagles up 1-0.  

Graceland was able to tie it up in the 31st minute off a direct kick to tie the match at 1.  Heading into half tied at 1-1 being out shot 8-2 RMU made ajustments and were able to flip the shot totals in the second half. 

In the 56th minute Graceland put one in the back of the net to go up 2-1.  RMU answered just five minutes later in the 61st minute on Lauren Campbell (SR/Rockford, Ill.)'s first goal of the season of a deflection to tie the match up at 2 with 29 minutes remaining.  

Out shooting Graceland 9-4 in the second half RMU looked for the lead, but Graceland was able to score in the 78th minute, dribbling past Adrienne Giglio to take a 3-2 lead.  Eagles were unable to get a third goal and fell by a final of 3-2, dropping the overall record to 1-2.  

Eagles were led by Detzi Reveles with 5 shots, 4 on goal, with her first goal of 2017.  Lauren Campbell only had one shot but made it count scoring her first goal of the season.  Ava Eggert (FR/Tinley Park, Ill.) and Demy Whitaker (SR/Toledo, Ohio) each had two shots with three of those four on target.  Adrienne Giglio came up with three saves on the day.  

"Obviously the team is not happy with two losses on the weekend, but there were many positives to take from these games.  We need to correct a few details and put together a complete 90 minute game, and we look to do so this Saturday against a #25 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene Unviersity" stated Head Coach Tom Czop.
