Men's Soccer-CH - Mon, Aug. 28, 2017

The Robert Morris Illinois Men's Soccer team lost a non-conference road match to Lawrence Tech (Mich.) by the score of 3-0 on Saturday August 26th in Southfield, Michigan.

The Eagles stayed even thru the first 45 minutes, with shots by Maximilian Never (JR/Munich, Germany) and Michell Corona (SR/Chicago, Ill.) forcing saves by LTU.  Christian Brunet (JR/Hunstville, Ontario) made 4 saves in the first half keeping the score tied 0-0 at half.

As the second half started the tables turned, and Edgar Aranda was booked with his second yellow card, meaning a collective red card forcing RMU to be down to 10 men.  Lawrence Tech wasted little time as 53 seconds after his send off, LTU scored on a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.  Remaining a man down the defense was pinned back and LTU took advantage scoring just two minutes later in the 56th minute to take a 2-0 lead.  In the 66th minute LTU was able to tack on a third goal on a rebound goal pushing the lead to 3-0.  RMU was unable to build offense a man down falling 3-0, dropping to 0-2 overall.

The Eagles 2017 home opener is Thursday August 31st at 5pm against Madonna University (Mich.) at Morris Field in Arlington Heights, Ill.
