GULF SHORES, Ala. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will take place May 25th through May 27th at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama and Alejandro Garcia (SR/Waukegan, Ill), Deion Carter (SR/Calumet Park, Ill.), and Celeste Ibarra (SO/Cicero, Ill. ) of Robert Morris Illinois will be competing.

Alejandro Garcia qualified for the national championships in three events, but he will only compete in the 1,500 Meters, an event he is ranked 10th in this season.  This will be the second straight year he will compete in this event at outdoor nationals and he is a two-time NAIA Indoor All-American in the same event.  Garcia also qualified in the 800 Meters and 5,000 Meters this year.

Deion Carter qualified for and will be competing in both the 100 Meters and 200 Meters, which he also qualified for in 2016.  The senior is ranked 29th in the 200 Meters and 36th in the 100 Meters heading into the national meet.

Celeste Ibarra is making her first appearance at the NAIA national championship meet, qualifying in the Marathon.  The sophomore is ranked 23rd in her event.

The preliminary race schedule for all three Eagles is listed below.

THURSDAY, MAY 25TH
3:40pm – 1,500 Meters (Alejandro Garcia)
5:05pm – 200 Meters (Deion Carter)

FRIDAY, MAY 26TH
3:10pm – 100 Meters (Deion Carter)

SATURDAY, MAY 27TH
6:00am – Marathon (Celeste Ibarra)
TBA – Finals for all events
