ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Basketball team won its third straight CCAC Conference game with a 57-44 victory over Holy Cross College (Ind.) on Saturday, January 7th at the RMU Athletic & Convocation Center.  The Eagles are now 3-5 in the CCAC and 5-13 overall this season.

The Eagles looked to be in complete control of the contest from the opening tip, scoring the first 13 points and leading 15-2 at the end of the first quarter.  RMU held the Saints to just 5.3% shooting, going 1-for-19 from the field.  RMU pushed its lead to 15 points at 22-7 with 6:46 to play in the first half, but Holy Cross then went on a 14-0 run to cut the Eagles' advantage to 22-21 with 2:31 remaining.  The Eagles scored the final three points of the second quarter to lead 25-21 at the half.

RMU maintained its advantage in the third quarter, leading by as many nine points and holding a 44-36 margin heading into the fourth quarter.  In the final 10 minutes, the Eagles once again took control and built a double-digit lead.  However, Holy Cross made one last push to cut the RMU margin to nine points at 50-41 with 5:04 to go, but the Eagles buckled down to lead 57-43 and win the conference game 57-44.

Jannah Mahmoud (JR/Oak Lawn, Ill.) led the way with her fifth double-double of the year with a game-high 18 points and 16 rebounds.  Victoria Harris (SR/Bellwood, Ill.) also notched her fifth double-double this season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.  Amber Jennings (JR/Oldsmar, Fla.) chipped in with 12 points and Donisha Anderson (SR/Chicago, Ill.) dished out eight assists in the win.

The Eagles host 16th ranked Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) on Wednesday, January 11th in CCAC Conference action at the RMU Athletic & Convocation Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm and fans can follow the game via live audio and stats on the Eagle Sports Network.
