The Eagles fell behind 9-2 to begin the game, but closed the gap to 11-8 just under five minutes into the contest.  However, the Fighting Bees extended their lead to nine points at 27-18 with 10:14 to go in the half with RMU cutting the deficit down to three points on four occasions.  Eagles' leading scorer Antonio Levy (SR/Harvey, Ill.) hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 46-46 in the final minute and the two teams went to the locker room tied at 48-48.

Levy gave the Eagles their first lead of the game on another three-pointer to open the second half, but Saint Ambrose went on a 7-0 lead to take a 55-51 advantage with 17:58 to play.  RMU broke a 59-59 tie with another trey by Levy and the Eagles held the lead for the next eight minutes before the Fighting Bees evened things up at 80-80 with 5:42 remaining.  Saint Ambrose managed to pull ahead at 86-84 with just 39 seconds left in regulation, leaving RMU needing a basket to tie the game and Omarr Gilbert (SO/Chicago, Ill.) provided the bucket to send the game to overtime tied at 86-86.

The Fighting Bees once again took a two-point lead in the final minute of the first overtime period, and Darius Paul (SR/Gurnee, Ill.) came through on a jumper to extend the game to a second overtime period with the game even at 92-92.  Back-to-back jumpers by Paul and Levy gave the Eagles a 98-94 lead with 2:47 left to go, but Saint Ambrose took a 99-98 lead on a Eric Dust three-pointer with 1:28 left on the clock.  Darius Randolph (SR/Joliet, Ill.) answered back with a jumper to give RMU a 100-99 advantage and RMU then pulled away for the 106-101 win.

Darius Paul registered his fourth double-double of the year with a game-high 27 points and 17 rebounds, and Darius Randolph also posted a double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.  Antonio Levy chipped in with 23 points and Kyle Ward (JR/Joliet, Ill.) added 10 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

The Eagles continue CCAC Conference action on Saturday, January 7th when they host Holy Cross College (Ind.) at the RMU Athletic & Convocation Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm and fans can follow the contest via live audio and stats on the Eagle Sports Network.
