The Eagles fell behind 4-0 to start the game, but came back and built a 20-16 advantage with 11:26 to go in the first half behind 11 points from Antonio Levy (SR/Harvey, Ill.) and nine points from Darius Paul (SR/Gurnee, Ill.).  The two teams were tied at 25-25 before RMU went ahead 30-25 with 7:37 to go and pushed its lead to seven points at 36-29 with 4:10 left.  However, the Lakers went on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 36-36 and the game was tied at 38-38 with just 27 seconds before half-time.  The Eagle had the last possession of the period and Levy hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give RMU a 41-38 lead heading into the locker room.

Roosevelt began the second half with a 7-0 run to take a 45-41 advantage, but RMU answered back with a 13-2 run to build a 54-47 lead with 15:34 to go in the game.  The Eagles held the lead for the next 10 minutes before the Lakers regained the lead and went up 73-68 with just 2:21 remaining.  Levy connected on another three-pointer for RMU to cut the deficit to 73-71 and a Devin Foster (SR/Chicago, Ill.) layup with 41 seconds left brought the Eagles to within a point at 74-73.  However, the Lakers pushed their lead to 75-73 on a free throw and RMU had one last chance to win or tie the game in regulation.  Devin Foster scored on another layup on an assist from Markee Williams (SR/Chicago, Ill.) to tie the game up at 75-75 and send it to overtime.

The Lakers scored the first basket of the extra period, but RMU built an 81-78 advantage on two free throws by Kyle Ward (JR/Joliet, Ill.).  Roosevelt tied the game back up at 83-83 with 1:11 to go and RMU's Darius Paul was fouled on a layup attempt with 38 seconds to play.  Paul hit one of two shots to put the Eagles up 84-83 and the Lakers only need a basket to take the lead late.  However, the RMU defense buckled down and denied Roosevelt the winning basket in the final seconds to earn the win and stay undefeated in the CCAC North Division.

Antonio Levy scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Eagles, while Darius Paul added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Devin Foster also scored 15 points and Markee Williams chipped in with 14 points and five assists in the win.

The Eagles continue CCAC Conference action on Thursday, January 5th when they travel to Davenport, Iowa to take on Saint Ambrose University.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm and fans can listen to the game live on the Eagle Sports Network.
