CHICAGO – The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Basketball team lost to Georgetown College (Ky.) by the score of 70-63 on Thursday, December 29th in the finale of the Saint Xavier Holiday Tournament.  The Eagles are now 2-13 this season following the non-conference loss.

The Eagles fell behind 9-1 to open the game, but RMU outscored the Tigers 15-8 to trail by one point at the end of the first quarter at 17-16.  Georgetown started the second quarter on another run, this time going on a 15-0 run to take a 32-16 lead over the Eagles.  RMU did battle back to cut the deficit down to seven points and trailed 39-30 at half-time.

RMU was able to cut the margin down to six points on two occasions in the third quarter and was down 55-47 heading into the game's final 10 minutes.  Once again the Eagles attempted a comeback, but could only get to within 68-63 with 2:07 to play and lost 70-63.

Jannah Mahmoud (JR/Oak Lawn, Ill.) earned All-Tournament Team selection after scoring a team-high 22 points to go with eight rebounds, while Victoria Harris (SR/Bellwood, Ill.) added 19 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

The Eagles return to CCAC Conference action on Tuesday, January 3rd when they host South Loop rival Roosevelt University at the RMU Athletic & Convocation Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm with the men's game to follow at 7pm, and fans can follow both games via live video, audio, and stats on the Eagle Sports Network.
