CHICAGO – The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Basketball team had its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 62-48 non-conference loss to 11th ranked Indiana Wesleyan University in the first day of the Saint Xavier University Holiday Tournament on Wednesday, December 28th.  The loss dropped the Eagles' record to 2-12 this season.

The Eagles took a 4-0 lead to open the game behind baskets from Donisha Anderson (SR/Chicago, Ill.) and Victoria Harris (SR/Bellwood, Ill.). However, the Wildcats scored the next nine points to take the lead for good and held an 18-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Indiana Wesleyan pushed its lead to 22-10 early in the second quarter, but RMU scored six straight points to pull within 22-16 with 7:42 to go in the half.  The Wildcats maintained their lead over the Eagles and took a 33-22 margin into the locker room at the half.

RMU was able to bring the deficit down to eight points in the third quarter, but Indiana Wesleyan closed out the stanza with a 6-0 run to lead 46-32 heading into the final quarter.  Unfortunately, the Eagles could not keep pace with the Wildcats in the final 10 minutes, falling behind by as many as 18 points and losing 62-48.

Victoria Harris posted her fourth double-double in just her fifth game played this season, scoring 13 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.  Jannah Mahmoud (JR/Oak Lawn, Ill.) added 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in the loss.

The Eagles continue action in the tournament on Thursday, December 29th when they take on Georgetown College (Ky.) at the Shannon Center on the campus of Saint Xavier.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm and fans can follow the game via live video and audio on the Eagle Sports Network, with video courtesy of Saint Xavier.
