ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.  – The Robert Morris Illinois Women's Basketball team won its second straight game, defeating Marian University (Wis.) by the score of 64-47 on Tuesday, December 20th at the RMU Athletic & Convocation Center.  The Eagles are now 2-11 overall this season.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first quarter and the Eagles trailed the Sabres 10-8 at the end of the stanza.  Marian continued to hold the lead for the entire second quarter, taking a 27-24 advantage into half-time.

Marian pushed its lead to seven points at 34-27 with 7:19 to go in the third quarter, but then RMU took the game over at this point.  The Eagles held the Sabres to only two more points for the remainder of the third quarter and outscored Marian 25-4 to build a 52-38 lead with 5:57 to play in the game.  Jannah Mahmoud (JR/Oak Lawn, Ill.) was on fire during the run, scoring 14 points during that stretch to propel the Eagles to their lead and to the win.

Mahmoud finished the night with a double-double, scoring a game-high 26 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Victoria Harris (SR/Bellwood, Ill.) had a tremendous game as well, also posting a double-double with 21 points and a game-high 20 rebounds.

The Eagles return to action next week in the Saint Xavier University Classic on Wednesday, December 28th and Thursday, December 29th.  RMU will square off against 11th ranked Indiana Wesleyan University at 3pm on Wednesday and then face Georgetown College (Ky.) at 2pm on Thursday at SXU's Shannon Center.  Fans can follow both games via live video, audio, and stats on the Eagle Sports Network, with video and stats courtesy of SXU Athletics.
